Where would "Brother" Russell be at now? (according to current light)
by garyneal ini had this thought the other day that i eventually shared with my wife.
the lead in to my sharing this thought was her asking me (on our way to an assembly) something along the lines of, "i wonder if i would ever be good enough for god.".
so i shared my thought that i came up with earlier and i will share it with the group here.

Gary that is some excellent reasoning you are doing with your wife. maybe another russell factiod that might help open her mind might be russell also taught that 1914 was the time for armageddon and when it did not happen it was changed to the time of christ by rutherford. unfortunatly the new dvd just glosses over the truth

Gb, atheism/agnosticism seems to be aneventuality of many ex dubs, myself i just pay attention to the gospels, just the heartfelt intent of jesus. that is all i have to go on and it is a kind of healing for me. i can also see everyone on earth the same without the us/them hate mentality

Information control in the midst of an information revolution
by sabastious inmy older brother is a prime victim of information control.
one of the last talks we had together before he decided to shun me was about the age of the earth.. he told me that science was a fraud.
he proved this with the bible's claim that god created the world in 6 thousand years (a thousand years as a day to jehovah).. he told me that science says it has fossils that are millions of years old therefore they must be lying since it conflicts with the bible.. he has a 4 year old son, my nephew.. i know that he was describing to me a position that not even the watchtower has.

there was a time when a right-hearted brother like myself would reach out for more privliges in gods service seeking bible truths from the faithfull slave class. along with my fleshly family i would listen attentively to the shepards prepare spiritual food from the platform, sometimes feeding on "new light" from gods organization. that would give me the pioneer spirit to increase my activity in jehovahs service. the problem with all of this spiritual feeding is the bible based publications or bible aids are misleading and incorrect in biblical doctrine. this has caused me to become spiritually weak and has aroused critical thinking which evidently has led me to deny the governing body is gods channel and after many months of spiritual inactivity i have some bad assosiates for worldly friends and now some of my former brothers and sisters view me as an APOSTATE, that one i kind of like

Triggering the Cult Personality - Not necessarily a bad idea

one thing i've been rolling around in my skull is the idea that it isn't necessarily a bad thing to trigger the cult personality, if you plan to leave it at that for the moment.
yes, the cult personality is trained to block out any rational criticism of the cult and to demonize anyone who brings up that criticism.

i find it works better if i ask them questions and after getting the thought into their head change the subject or minimize any rebuttal insinuating any apostate views. its slow reasoning but the question remains in the mind without raising much suspition
